Good thing Rory bought that gun for his boy. Polly didn't have another shooter in the house he could have loaned him

Well, I've seen what my oldest can do to my cars, he AIN'T hunting with one of my T's!
Was gonna let him use a gray prewar R, but everybody should start off with a schnabel.
For those who are tracking, I know we discussed when they switched from serial numbers on buttstock/buttplate/forearm to the codes, and this one is serial numbered at 530,70x.

I think that looks like the one I left next to a tree while I was draggin my deer out, and when I came back I couldn't find the tree. You know, it was a tall skinny Oak tree, right next to another tall skinny Oak tree, in the woods, Joe.
I'm not greedy, I just want one of each.

Never found the glasses.

That scope mounting job just makes me shudder every time I look at it. Here it is with some gun show pick ups from yesterday. $20 for 21 cartridges, mostly 303 Savage but some 22HP and a 250 or two in there. I thought the Savage patch was kind of neat. Any idea how old that is?

That would make a great hunter. No wonder the boy wants it.

Nice clean up job Rory, but take those Weaver bottoms off the top of that scope, your hurting my eyes! I'd love to hear the story behind that. Maybe the previous owner was trying to mount another gun upside-down on top of that one? :-) Bubba never sleeps (Neil Youngs next hit). -TomT

Calhoun, couldn't help but notice the beautiful gun rack. Did you make it or where did you find it?
Also, do you have a picture of it without the hardware?

Gun rack was my father-in-law's. Supposedly hand made by a gentleman somewhere up in the sandhills area of Nebraska. Don't think I do have a picture, but probably should take one.

Would love to see a full view of it if you get the chance sometime. Whoever that gentleman in Nebraska was that made it, its obvious he put many hours into it.
