Did Sako use a longer magazine box in the .375 than they did for the .338, 7 Mag, etc.? Any changes to the action to facilitate the longer round? The 'Ol .338 is getting tired and thinking about putting a .375 H&H barrel on.

Sell it and buy a .375. I have one of those L61R's in 375 and it was a mistake. They don't have CRF nor a decent safety. Look at new M 70's. Caliber / Gauge 375 H&H Mag. Link

The rifle has sentimental value to me as I had it made up by a late smith who I admire. Its chambered for a 375 improved.
It was my fault that I chose an action without CRF and it also lacks a M70 type three position safety.
It's not for sale but thank you for your interest.

The 'Ol .338 is getting tired and thinking about putting a .375 H&H barrel on. Nope, retube and go; done it on four Sako actions. Two AV's and two L61r's. One L61R was rebarreled to 375 HH and an AV to 7 STW.....

Pretty sure BrotherDave ran a bare action to 375AI...

Thinking I had a 700 done before his at the same place with the same reamer. But he had to have someone else finish it. Now that I think about it.

Yes, both brothers, as a matter of fact. One of them was used in October to put a convincing smack-down on a giant Ursus arctos.
