Wears great. I find it slick more than sticky. I'm glad to hear that Mr. Walter's family is keeping the business going after his passing.

My 25-06 was done in the Black T by Birdsong years back and still looks like new.
A Doe walks out of the woods today and says, that is the last time I'm going to do that for Two Bucks.

That looks a lot like our 25-06! Had Kampfeld pimp the bolt and Williams bottom metal. I just love that Birdsong finish.

Love the Black-T. It is on the frame of this Officers ACP. Dark gray T on the slide. Dark Gray Also have it in Dark Earth I also have a Sako 75 coated in the Black-T. You would not be disappointed, but there is usually a long turn-around. They have a lot of defense contracts and such that consumes a lot of their time. Good people to deal with and talk to.

How durable is it compared to Cerakote ?
Hal No experience with Cerakote so far, but Black-T is not a bake on finish, it penetrates the metal. They have a piece of pipe in the shop that was coated 30 years ago that they use to demonstrate how durable it is. The pipe is bent and beat to hell and back, with no marring of the finish, no chips, no flaking. The only thing you may experience over time is some wear. but that is only the color wearing off in high friction zones (holsters, etc...). The finish is still bonded to the metal and will still not rust. Plus they have a lifetime warranty on their finish. If it does wear they will refinish the firearm.

Do you have to ship to Birdsong through an FFL? Their order form mentions an FFL, but as far as I know, there isn't a law which requires an FFL to ship somewhere for repair, etc.

Tom
