None taken. I live in the rookies at 6000ft and climb to 10000ft about 15 miles away. All I need to do to see elk is get off the road, at the top of a mountain. I do have a 300wm to carry around though. I dont carry those guns anywhere but to the top of the mountain where all the elk can be seen.

Thanks for your response. I was concerned it may have offended you. ? where are the 'rookies'? I get so aggrivated at myself. I 'proof read' my post 2-3 xs and still miss mistakes. It happens even to GWs here on the fire. Good Luck Hunting

Looking at 3 trophy unit bull tags this year. Back is Sako M995 in 30-378 with 32" Pacnor tube and 42 power Nightforce. Front is Remington 700 in 338 edge 29" barrel now wearing a Vortex Razor HD. Elk are going down this year. 
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

I live in Nucla, Co which is south of Grand Junction. I have a 1400 yard range. The 338 edge is new and so far its shooting 1" group at 300yards, hoping to sweetin that up a little and go out and shoot some longer ranges.
