Money can't buy you happiness, but it can buy you a hunting license and that's pretty close.

Those are really beautiful rifles!
Makes me want to sing the title song to the movie "Jeremiah Johnson".
Johnny $
“My horn is full and my pouch is stocked with ball and patch. There is a new, sharp flint in my lock and my rifle and I are ready. It is sighted true and my eyes can still aim.” Kaywoodie

They should have used one of these rifles in the movie.

Very pretty! Shame they don't shoot worth a snot That's a pretty broad statement. I've shot this one enough to know that you're wrong.

I like it. What twist rate and cal. ? It's round ball twist. Not sure of the actual numbers. This one is a 50. I also have a brass furniture .50 and an iron furniture .45. I need a .54 now, but they're pretty rare.

What I don't understand is brass was never common in Hawkens. The majority were iron. I'm not sure why they would make brass. I can't recall ever seeing a real Hawken in brass.
Another problem is the twist. Everybody thinks a slow RB twist is what Hawkens had, but it's not true. They used a 1-48 twist. Even back in the Hawken era they realized the RB could be improved on, and conicals were becoming popular.
