I am looking a 22mag semi-auto. Are they out there? I only have a few requirements, dependable, accurate and compact. Any ideas?

Kel-Tec PMR30 is the only currently made one on the market. The AMT ones were mostly junk save the great one they let slip through once in awhile but I would never buy one.

I have had three of both, and you are right on the money. The AMT's were crapola but I am keeping my PMR30 this time! (previous two went to good, close friends who wanted them badly when seen and fired) BTW, with Hornadays new 45gr Critical Defense load, the PMR30 generates almost 1400fps. THAT is serious rimfire power right there.

Now if a fellow could set up his Kel-Tec to go full auto with a cyclic rate of fire of about 300 rpm, that 30 round magazine would allow a full 6 second hose of fire. Count off 6 seconds and imagine a steady stream of bullets over that time 5 per second - thats pretty good suppression right there. Even controlled and well aimed one second bursts of 5 to 6 rounds of 45 grain ammo at 1400 fps could have some potential to ruin a bad guys day.

You should see me just letting loose with only my trigger finger at full speed. I don't think it takes much more than 6 seconds to empty it out anyway. And the FLAME this thing puts out at dusk???? Spectacular!
The darned thing is expensive to feed, but SOOOOO much fun......
Makes a perfect companion for my pheasant and other bird hunts for the occasional coyote, badger or other large varmint that shows himself. Light enough to not notice it is there until it is needed, then enough power to do some good. Anytime I am not in bear country it is my walking around woods gun.

I've only seen one in action, a fellow and his son were shooting at the range and had one. You're not kidding about that flame, this was around 11 or 12 o'clock in full daylight and the fireball coming from that muzzle was impressive.

Imagine being a bad guy with all of that noise and flash pointed right at you, knowing that there is a wall of bullets heading your direction. Probably a big phsycological advantage to the PMR 30 shooter.
