Men, Several of us are planning a Prairie Dog and Coyote combination hunt/shoot in either late April or Early May. I have been in the area we will be hunting several times and there are plenty of PD's and Coyotes. Never been in the area in the late spring though. Anything anyone can think of that might have an adverse effect on the hunt? Too early (if certain times are better than others). Hunting NE Wyoming. Any recommendations on a good electronic coyote call?
Thanks, Dave

Not sure about NE WY but in these parts it might be FAR too cold to find much for prairie dogs in late April (late spring takes place the end of May). Any of the Foxpro models will serve just fine for an e-call. Never used anything else, but would advise against those that lack the speaker quality and volume of the better designs.

I would try to go later if at all possible. Varmint shooting is very weather sensitive. Bad weather will be bad shooting. rodents are the ultimate fair weather targets.

Forget the e-call, just about everyone up there has one & the dogs know what sounds to stay away from. Get some decent mouth calls & you will be better off. P-dogs, from March/April on IMO thats when start to hit them hard.
Did I make you cry......boooo hooo, life goes on.

Men, Thanks for all the comments. The ranch we will be hunting is a sleeper. Not a lot of pressure. Lots of PD's and many towns. Yotes stay well hid but they surely have to be plentiful. Lots of livestock and Antelope and PD's out the gazoo. Looks like we are doing it 2nd week in May.
