After firing 3 shots of 2 1/2" 6 shot PMC brand shells the cylinder became stuck with 3 empties and 2 live shells remaining in the cylinder.

I was trying the gun out, target shooting to pattern the shot at distances of 10 yds, 7 yds, 5 yds..

I came to understand that to kill small game with shot shells out of the judge you would have to be closer to the game than you should be able to get.

If you get close enough to small game to kill the game with shot shells out of the judge, you could do it with a sling shot, a rock, a beer bottle, a stick, or just reach forward with your foot and step on the game.

I believe it would be fine for snakes just in front of your feet, but the judge is NOT a hunting gun or a trail gun.

After the cylinder bacame stuck, I was able to get the cylinder open but the empty shells had become stuck in the cylinder so the ejection spur couldn't push them out.

It's likely that the judge just didn't like this brand of shot shells, I don't know.

What I know for sure is the springfield 1911-A1 45 is a pure joy to own and to shoot.

I've killed grouse with a T/C Contender 410/45 out to about 40 feet.

My 1911 experience was with a Springfield long slide model and a Kimber. Both quality guns. Brent I agree with your comment about the grip shape/size. I do ok with Glocks and the Springfield XDM semi-auttos. Just seem to fit my hand better than the full size 1911's.

Pam, thoe are great stop action photos.

Those pics turned out really cool! Glad you got a gun that you really like.

I am out of order until further notice. My "stupid people" filter needs cleaning and my "give a damn" batteries have run out.

WB, I don't recall what the barrel length is. I don't think it's 15" inches though (Shorter). The gun belongs to my buddy and it's one of the original 410/45 barrels. I'm guessing that it's more in the 12" range. I've taken about a half dozen grouse with it over the years.

I got a left handed mini mauser action for Kendra's birthday today, I'm going to do a rifle build for her in 6x45 probably for deer/antelope. her savage is a little heavy she said after toting it around this fall. I figured it would be just the ticket, she is excited, so that's good smile

I love the action photos, very cool!

Sounds like quite a boat, and an upgrade.

Congratulations!

Ryan, have you give a 6.5 Creedmore any thought? Be great little deer/antelope cartridge.

I hope it's quite a boat. It is an upgrade from the year, went from 2002 to 2004. But I actually went down in size 2'. It will be easier to fish on the smaller local lakes around here. I'm looking forward to being able to hit them for a couple hours after work when I get a chance.

Still big enough to fish the bigger lakes too.
