"Show me a man who will jump out of an airplane, and I'll show you a man who will fight." Major General James M. Gavin, Commander, 82nd Airborne Division
"American Parachutists...devils in baggy pants...are less than 100 meters from my outpost line. I can't sleep at night; they pop up from nowhere and we never know when or how they will strike next. Seems like the black-hearted devils are everywhere..." (An entry in a German officer's diary found after the Battle of Anzio)

"There are no dangerous weapons. There are only dangerous men." - Robert Heinlein
Back in the early 70's the majority of our DZ's were Rubarb fields surounded by grape vinyards, break an ankle on a Rubarb or get skewerd on a grape stake, just all kinds of fun! Best part was they were low leval and at night to where you couldn't see them till it was too late. No see, No worry!
A kid, man now, I went to school and played baseball with (his father was our coach, best coach I ever had, RIP coach O!), made the combat jump into Iraq with the 173rd Airborne Brigade in the 2003 invasion. I believe they were stationed in Italy.
NYH1!
Take nothing I say personal, remember....it's just the interweb!
