Hey Guys and Gals,

I was just wondering how many members we have on the campfire that are from Arizona.
It seems the bigger the campfire gets, the more and more I am finding people from my area.
I think it would be a good Idea to see who is from here so that maybe someday we can all get together and do some hunting or fishing. just a thought.

So who is from Arizona?

I will start it off.
I am from Mammoth Arizona, but live in Oro Valley (Tucson) Arizona now.

Enrique

Azshooter,

You are close to where I live. I am around Oracle and El conquistador way area. About 2 miles north of you.

I may have to take you up on the shooting range.

I'm from Oro Valley but have been working in Australia and may be for some time before I can get home.

AZShooter - Is the Pima Pistol Club the one in Catalina? What are the facilities like?

Enrique - Hope this finds you and yours doing well. Starting to get excited about our upcoming Sonoran Muley hunt. Wish your rancher would move the dates slightly as I have friends that would consider if they would not have to travel so close to Christmas. Only two months away - <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

I pretty much only flyfish. Nearest favorite spot is the San Juan in NM.

Ken,

Give me a call or send me a PM and we'll talk. You're 16 hours ahead right?

Did anyone apply for Javelina this year? Who's hunting deer?

I have a Client in 36C this weekend, hopefully I will have some photos to share.

With all of us here in Arizona, I think we should do some hunting or shooting. I was not aware of all the hunters in tucson. This is great.

I tell you what since the Sportsmans Warehouse has opened. I have been a lot happier. has anyone been to the new one in Tucson?

Enrique

Handsup,

Yes Pima Pistol Club is near the town of Catalina. It is off of Wild's road, then south on Bowman rd. It sits near the edge of Catalina state park. It is privately owned so we can't be booted off as The Tucson Rod and Gun Club was by the Forest Service.

The Club was vastly improved around 5 years ago. The SCI, NRA and some local monies helped to make a beautiful 100 yd rifle range. It has 18 concrete NRA style benches, one giant slab and the whole thing is covered with a slanting metal roof. The berm is 110 yds away.

Two years ago some of us helped to build a 200 yd setup with 4 benches. It is not used all the time only on weekdays. The hangun competitors use this range on the weekends.

When I am not hunting or fishing I go to the range as often at 5 days a week. There are a bunch of regular rifle shooters/loonies that show up on tuesdays and fridays. We talk more than we shoot.

Youngbuck,

As for sportsman's warehouse: It is nice to have it. I still go to Murphy's for some things and to Saguraro Tackle and Archery for others. Can't beat personalized service with folks that have lived here most of their lives. The guys at Sportsman's are imported for the most part and don't know our lakes or lands.

Jesse who owns Saguaro is an avid archer. He got his antelope at just over 100 yds and he got a Coues that scored around 90 at 80 yds. Now that is shooting! FYI I just got a really nice used PSE bow from his shop last week. One of the guys that is housed in the back made me a new "twist" string which by its design doesn't need that rubber band to keep the peepsight aligned. Didn't get drawn for Coues so will make an attempt to get a buck this december. May be a short hunt as I have two cow elk hunts in dec too. NM and Az.

The Pima Pistol Club would be a great place for us to gather if we ever wanted to meet.
