Hey guys,

I have a question about a Remington 1100. The serial no is N444206 V.

Are there any known issues with this shotgun? Feeding problems anything like that.

The one I'm looking at is well used but the price is kind of close to right. Looking to get it down about $100 more but it's in the ball park.

I'm mainly going to use it for shooting clays for trap and skeet.

Please let me know if I may end up regretting this as I can't really afford to make a mistake. Selling this one isn't going to be easy.

Thanks

Tom

1100's are great, been winning skeet shoots since the 60's. Why do you think it would be hard to sell?

As long as you use standard ammo you should be fine.. Describe 'well-used'...

No real problems with 1100s.. Parts are readily available and mostly economically repaired.. Things you can check beforehand are the gas piston and seal, the barrel seal, and the feed latch (i.e., shells are allowed to come out of the magazine).. Unless it's been done recently (which I heavily doubt), have the action spring replaced - it's one of the most neglected items on a M1100, yet are critical to proper operation.. A new spring runs about $6-7 and takes 15 mns to replace..

Thanks Redneck.

Well used: scratches all over the barrel and wood. Generally dirty.

He got the 1100 in a trade and has never shot it.

Does anyone know the year of manufacture based on the serial number?

Thanks

Try the link above. I'm doing this from my phone so I hope it works for you. If not, just google: "Remington dates" and the link will come up.

Thanks for the link. Blocked at work. I'll have to do it from home.
