Age ain't all bad. Just think of all those good memories you have racked up over the years. I am 52 and don't yearn to be younger, mostly because of how stupid I was. The older I get, the stupider I was. It would be nice to have the health and condition back though.

Poobah, what the heck am I gonna do with a 375? I raised 4 kids on one income. I'm too freekin' lazy to make myself rich. Africa is only a dream. Actually, I just wanna kill one elk before it's over, and maybe a moose. They don't have to be trophies, and I DON'T want somebody holding my hand when I do it, except maybe my best friend (my wife).

I just finished re-reading this excellent article. It is amazing that Holland and Holland got it SO right 100 years ago; after all, they did not have computers nor the internet to tap into the wisdom of all the internet posters! I guess they just got lucky! smile smile

JB's .375 load data sure produces some great results from the .375 H&H. Tight groups at the range, and a dead bear afield for me with his 260 gr Nosler/Reloader 15 load.

I always think of the 375H&H as just an overgrown 30-06.

It's only as useful as a 30-06 is.

The animals it's as useful for, just average a wee bit bigger. wink

Twist my arm. grin wink OK, that's enough. We gotta quit talkin' and get shootin' one of these days. You still got that swiss cheese #3 action? confused I still got a barrel and I'm thinkin' I might be willing to live with a couple extra holes to get a rifle put together.

Picked up the latest issue the other nite in Wallyworld and read JB's 375 article also, ever since JB started writing for Wolf again those Wally turds quit discounting the magazine. But I allways get my money's worth anyway. Ingwe, Vari X 3 1.5 x 5 ? same as on my Whitworth? Still have a small supply of the 235gr Speers and kinda enjoy shooting them. Magnum Man

JB probably feels a lot like Custer around here at times.

I also just read JB's article on the .375 and I realize I HAVE IT ALL. In long guns I have a .22 LR ( Ruger ), A .30-06 ( Win. M54) A .375 H&H ( Sako with 18" bbl. ) and a 12 guage Fox double. Just gotta figger out what all those other guns are doing in my safe.

You got that right, add a .270 and he's got the Dream Team. He's only to worry about time to build the arks that he's going to fill.... wink

Now just watch some dusty/crusty old dude will come along and say something about the 7X... grin

Reading this thread was going good till I hit the part about a .270 being included in a " dream team"...
I threw up in my mouth a little....
