Managed to find myself a Sako P-54 today, bought it on the spot. Looks as though its never fired more than 50 rounds.
No bluing missing anywhere, not even on the bolt. No marks anywhere on the stock. Barrel perfect. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />
It has a very different rippled forend with straight "checkering" right from the scnabel tip through to the end of the pistol grip.
It's serial number is 227XX, does anyone know approximately when it may have left the Sako factory?
I'm also looking at how to mount a scope on it, I seem to remember seeing only one other one here in Australia, it had tapered dovetail blocks fore and aft, presumably to mount Sako rings onto. Anyone seen anything similar, or does anone happen to have a set of blocks and rings laying around?
Regards,
500 Jeffery.
