Hey Gang,
I am in process of completing my 25-06 build and figure I will ask about good loads. Not sure if I have asked or not so I figured I would throw it out again and see what comes up.
Very interested in the following: Barnes 80 grain Barnes 100 grain Nosler 110 grain AB Berger 115 grain
I am thinking of keeping this rifle at 500 yards or less, however I am considering going further out that is why I am asking about the Accubonds and VLDs.
Anyone have a good load they would suggest? FPS, Powder, brass, primers plz
Kique

I'd keep it easy and simple: Win brass CCI 200's 7828 100 Horns build a couple arks and start filling them... Dober

Lotsa good suggestions in this thread. Play around and let the rifle decide. Mine decided on: 55.5 gr. RL-22, (my old 1997 Sierra manual gives 56.0 as max.); 117 gr. Sierra Pro-Hunter; GM210M primers. Averages 3128 fps from a Ruger KM77VT Mk II. It's become my one and only 25-06 load cause it works so well in that gun.

Yep will agree on the 22, but Sierra backed off on max for that combo. Hornady still lists that as max, but would approach that with caution as I started getting pressure signs @ 54.5, and velocity spikes. Good Combo though. Swifty

The 25-06 is generally pretty easy to find a good load for. Mine is a Remington 700 that is on its second barrel. This current barrel shoots just about anything I put in it and pretty often all to the same POI. Some my favorites are:
Rem case / Fed 210 M / 58.5 grains IMR 4831 / 80 Barnes TSX for 3600 fps (This is a great antelope load)
Rem case / Fed210M / 54 grains IMR 4831 / 100 grain Nosler Partition or Barnes TSX for 3300 fps. (Your choice depending on regulations where you hunt.)
Win case / Fed 215M / 54.5 grains IMR 7828 / 115 grain Nosler BT for 3150 fps
Hope this helps.

100 gr Barnes TSX, H4350, Fed 210 = 3340 fps
Typical Barnes penetration - completely through mule deer bucks on two occasions. Sub MOA accuracy.
115 gr Berger VLD, Retumbo, Fed 210 = 3190 fps
Typical VLD performance with quick kills and not much chance of an exit wound. In addition to a couple of bucks at shorter ranges, I took one mule deer doe at 400 yards, farthest kill with this rifle. Worked great! Held on hair, pressed. She fell. Good accuracy from my factory built 700 CDL/24" barrel.

I purchased a new Marlin XL7C last year in 25-06. I developed a load for this season IMR4350 52.0 grs and a 100 gr Sierra game King. I have taken 5 deer so far this season with this load at ranges from 100 to 175 yards. All kills were like turning a switch off. All droped where they stood. All lung shots, all bullets exited with a massive exit hole. I am very pleased with this round to say the least.

I have had good results with RE22 and am currently using IMR4350 with 110 Accubonds and 117 Hornady BTSP. Using Hodgdon's max load per their data I get 3100 + or - a few.
Plan to give H4350 a try in it sometime

Remington Model 700 MTN Rifle 25-06 with 22" barrel
Nosler 120 gr. Partition IMR4350 49.0 grs. Winchester brass Federal 210 Primer 3000 fps exactly +1 I have found that this approximate amount of IMR4350 and a good 117-130 gr bullet to be a sweet spot for several 25/06's

My varmint load is 52.5 H414 behind a 75 gr V-Max. Hunting load is 56.5 RL-22 with a 100 gr Interlock. I think Alliant lists 58.0 as max. 26" barrel, around 3300 with the 100 and 3600 with 75s, if I'm remembering right.
I imagine you could do something similar with the 80 and 100 Barnes.

I'd buy a pound of IMR4831 and a pound of R-22. These two have been the most consistent (fine accuracy with high velocity) in my 3 .25-06 rifles. Don't overlook the 117 gr Sierra BTSP, nor the 100 gr Nosler BalTip either.
