i have a piece of old mil. brass that i found on the ground that measures 7.62�53.7mm, is rimless and is berden primed. it is just a hair thicker at the casehead than a .308 win. what might this be and where is it from? thanks, yall.

If it's thicker at the casehead than a .308, my guess is a 7.5x54mm French MAS.

There are a number of cartridges of this approximate size. You'll really need to take measurements of the rim diameter, head diameter, shoulder diameter, neck diameter and the case length.

That would be my vote as well. The 7.5 Swiss would be another, but it's 55mm in length.
