I'm trying to get into taking pictures, but the scenery is somewhat limited here in my college town. Don't have a great camera, but it's ok for me: Kodak Easy Share 4 MP. Anyway, here's the best one I could get this evening. [img] [image]http://x10.putfile.com/10/29917080319-thumb.jpg[/img][/image] [/image]

Guess I suck at this after all. I don't know what you're talking about! I think the picture is very good. The composition is good. Point and shoots are difficult to get light and exposure right, especially when the sun is so intense. Cropping helps, and it takes a lot of practice! Keep trying! M

When you post a pic, if you want it larger, hit the return button before you paste the link. it will come out larger.

thanks for the compliments. I'm getting a pretty good refund for my overpaid tuition in the next week or so and I'm thinking about getting a new camera. Probably have about 500 to spend, I definately want something with interchangeable lenses, digital, maybe 5 MP, have any suggestions?

The rebel 6.2 mp might could be had for around that plus maybe a 100? Give dough at cameraland a call. He'll get you hooked up. He's a sponsor here and has had nothing but good reviews from others. I can tell you that the Rebel XTR 8mp is selling for 1K here and the 20D is another 500. I'm sure you'll be able to find some good deals down there. Paul

I guess I am still old fashion. I like the film photography. However, I need to branch out an look at digital more. I see some really nice stuff. Am I correct in asuming that most of you are digital Photographers?

I have learned more about photography in the short time I have used the digital slr camera than in all the years of shooting film. For me it is much less expensive to shoot the digital, and my results are better because I have the instant feedback. The point and shoot is, of course, different. But still, save in film. The option of checking out the pictures first and then chosing the ones you want to print is, I think, a wonderful option. You can even email them to Costco, and other places, and have them printed in advance so you don't have to go twice! It's great, I think! But if you do well with film and you don't want to change, there is no reason to. Just my thoughts. M
