Looks like the petro binding in the asphalt has burned away on a pretty big swath. Might be some pretty harsh damaged underneath that. TBH they ought to call the race unless that is only cosmetic damage... I can still remember them fussing with the track for hours and doing repair after repair at Martinsville several years back.
Hard to believe they didn't have safety cells for the jet dryer fuel.

I'm pretty impressed that the safety barrier did not burn down. It's not even really singed at the point of impact. Would have been pretty wild to have seen that thing burning for 2.5 miles in the round. WTH is that stuff made of?

So my question is will a team of jet dryers sit in that one spot for about 15 minutes to dry the wet spot?

Lol, there's a bunch of it that will need to be replaced though. Saw where several pillars were warped and shriveled. This would be an hour job for a competent bunch... NASCAR? Hard to say. They may take 2 hours and do it right or just half ass it in 30 minutes.
Hard to tell if that section is going to shred up tires or come loose and make a hole. The race was just starting to get interesting.
