I need a back-up magazine for a old style, pre-81, steel receiver Browning BLR in 243 win.
Any reasonably priced ones out there?

Last week I was in a gun shop and spotted one on the shelf.
It was WAY more than I wanted to pay for a spare for my 308.
Not sure what makes these mage worth $100 or more, then again it was still on the shelf
I am one gun away from happy

I agree. Magazine prices in general are ridiculous, new or old. The exceptions being the mags for ARs and 1911s.

i think you might do well to look on gunbroker. i think i found it easier to buy a rifle with 2 and sell the rifle with one.
