Bushcraft mentioned wanting to hunt Nyala and the auctioned hunt was to be in the Limpopo and Kalahari. I may have read that wrong. I was just trying to point out that Nyala are not indigenous to either area. Every hunt has to have some compromise and I was pushing my own ethics. It is his hunt and he should do what he wants. You blokes are spot on in making that point clear.

I looked up 3 different sources. All showed the "natural range" of nyala to extend into S.Africa where it borders Zim and Moz. Which is where the Limpopo Province sits, no?

[quote=PieterKrielYes I have heard how some outfits boast. Precisely what we are trying to get rid of. Next time you come out this way give me a call and I'll see what I can do for you to show what can be done. [/quote]

Please keep up the good work. You are now on my short list. smile

Bushcraft-

You're pretty close on your math. Our chapter received this donation as well and I worked up the math on it.

Per the donation, you'd need to pay for 7 days at the dangerous game rate of $900/day, not three. And it does require two hunters, both shooting the eight plains game animals (total of 16) and lionesses if you want them. Since you'd be splitting the $6K trophy fee credit with the 2nd hunter, your total cost for the daily rates would be $6,450.00. If you go to their website and add up the cost for the "required" plains game animals, add another $12,150.00 that you'll spend in trophy fees. In essence, if you got the hunt for free and went with a buddy, from the time you got to the nearest international airport, you'd each bring back 8 big plains game animals and a lioness for $19,000.00 each plus dip and pack and tips.
