Minengr, Very nice. What length barrel is that and what twist? What barrel mfg did you use? Anything you'd do differently? How long did it take to receive? Thanks.

I'm almost positive it's 26", if not then 24". It is a pac-nor 1-10" twist. I'm thinking I waited eight weeks, I don't really remember. It was within a week of whatever he quoted me, however.
The only thing I'd do different is the barrel twist. I've also got a custom 17 rem bolt gun. I built it first, with a 1-10 pac-nor, and figured might as well make them the same. It's nice they both shoot the same load quite well, but I'd like the option of heavier bullets.
The only real negitive is that 17Rem brass is now $.50/ea. I have no experience with other aftermarket triggers. I love the two stage Jewell. It's a bitch to install, but once you get it set how you like, worth it.
I'd like to have him build me another. I'd probably go with a 1-7 (.224) Rock Creek ,fully fluted, and keep everything else the same.

17-223 or 17 tac is a better choice.
I've been so overwhelmed with fake news that I'm now nuts. Let's go Brandon

I don't believe Rock Creek makes a .17cal barrel.

Take the scope off so you have a realistic price on the gun only.... 1300 and some change... which allows you to buy the 600 something scope and still stay under 2000 basically....
Many other smiths out there would have you pay them 2000 to start with and then add the optics... and have the same accuracy result.... even if you upgraded from PN tube its only gonna be another 100 or so bucks to get to the very best barrel out there basically.
We can keep Larry Root and all his idiotic blabber and user names on here, but we can't get Ralph back..... Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, over....
