I own a stainless Black & Grey Laminate .50 Encore,it is
flawless. I called TC a while back to inquire about if it
possible use the new twist out breech plugs in my gun. I
was told that there is a modification they do at TC that
cost a little over 60 dollars that would allow me to use
one but I would have to send my gun in to do so. The guy
went on to say he would wait 6 months or better as the
current plant was closing and operations consolidated at
the S&W plant. My gun is extremely accurate and while I
like the new pro hunter I have heard of some quality
issues at the new location as any one else knowledge of
of these problems. The guy I talked to there did not say
so but hinted and also said if he had a real shooter he
would modify and not buy a new one. Thanks for any help

I wish, I wish, I wish TC had never been purchased by S&W.

They, 'repair' department is currently swamped with work. Likely will be for some time. Have also been told S&W 'custom' is doing a lot (or all) of the repair.

All I want say right now.

Thanks for input hoping I would have heard more probally wait
and send it in for modification. I really want the hand twist
breech plug. I have had several people say if you got a TC
Encore you like you might want to hold on to it.
