Just picked up a 99 in 30-30. Serial number 432,xxx with matching stamped wood and a 3 stamped on the boss. Looks like R wood with cut checkering. 22 inch barrel marked utica,ny and a 5 stamped under the forend. Metal s style unmarked buttplate. Doesn't list this in my blue book but I read a thread somewhere on here about some noncataloged ones. Any ideas or info? Thanks in advance

Sounds like an RT to me. A very uncommon and uncataloged gun.
We would LOVE to see some pictures.
If it is an RT Drew will want to get the info on your gun as he is collecting info on them.

I will send you a PM where you can email me pics and I will post them for you... I am certain its an RT... the serial number and description fit perfectly... I would like to have the rest of the serial also if you don't mind, just for my records.
Thanks

Not trying to hijack the thread but, on these RT models, is the pistol grip thick as on the R or thinner like the EG?

I've got one just like it (30-30 4321XX). They are sweet little rifles. That's a nice find.

Not trying to hijack the thread but, on these RT models, is the pistol grip thick as on the R or thinner like the EG? It's thin like an EG or Pre war R. 50's R's were thicker than these.
