I bought a Fuji X100 a few days ago and just got the settings dialed in today. This is my 4th pic taken with the camera. Just a cool little leaf I found in the street. This camera is not known for its macro capability and as I recall it wasn't even in macro setting, but I like the way it turned out for an experimental shot. It was taken at ISO 400, 1/250 sec, f5, 0 EV. Let me know what you all think. CC welcome.

Wow! The color rendition and detail in the lower part of the leaf is just outstanding. The way the reds are rendered really reminds me of Fuji Velvia slide film which was, and is, one of the best slide films for outdoor photography.

Wow, great shots!

I got a Fugi P&S awhile back and it does pretty good also. I'll start another thread and post a couple photo's there. Hope thin camera holds up a whailr. Had two Nikon L24's and neither one made it a month.

The fuji x100 is an outstanding camera, I had one and loved the pics it produced. You will be very happy with it!

After a few weeks of shooting like crazy, I decided to return it. It took great shots but was a BRICK and not very pocketable (only in the largest cargo pockets was it pocketable). Not the sort of thing I'd want to lug around while going to the beach, hiking or hunting in the field. I bought a kick ass camera strap thinking I'd go that route but being honest with myself I don't see it as something I'll want to "wear" along with everything else. It was worth a try and for many I'm sure this camera will be the cat's meow.

I'm back to considering true P&S cameras, including the Canon S100 and the Olympus XZ-1 (at the larger end of how big I want to go), leaning towards the XZ-1 since it has a brighter faster lens, a bigger sensor, and better macro, although I really like the size of the S100 and it has better reviews.

The S100 would fit the bill; I've got an S95 (same thing but with a 28mm lens and slightly inferior video capability) and it rides well in a cargo pants pocket or jacket pocket. Put an optical glass screen protector (not the cheesy peel and stick protectors; I got one from Amazon for my S95) on it and you won't have to worry about scratching the screen when it is in your pocket.

I think I'll revisit the S100. I played around with it at Best Buy but you can only get pictures to look so good indoors under that fluorescent light.
