I was playing a Cabela's video game this afternoon and one of the things the game told me to do was shoot some rabbits. After shooting the first one I found out they scored them. Is this just a game thing or do they actually score them? If they don't actually score them mabey we could invent our own way to score them!

Poundage would be about the only way to "score" a rabbit.
Small game ain't for scoring, though. It's for eating.
Now, go get your folks some rabbits for dinner tonight.

I agree, the best thing to do with a rabbit is eat it!
Cottontails are great and plentiful here in God's Country. I prefer to simmer mine for 2 hours, bone them out, and make chili with the meat and stock.
Fresh cornbread, coleslaw, and a beer tops off a real good day!

I score them by measuring the ears...

I think the scoring is closely regulated by the "Bugs and Thumper" club.

I'm going out rabbit hunting tomorrow morning and, if I shoot any, I'll try and figure out a couple of methods to "score" them. Pictures to follow.

Measuring the front teeth might be another method...

Total skull measurements (i.e. like a bear) plus front teeth length.
Same, same could be done for ground grizzlies... and marmots...
On second thought, just weigh the f'kers and start cooking.

I'd say the Belt Measurement system would be called for ... just how many notches you have to loosen your belt after eatin' 'em.

Yall got it all wrong! A rabbit is just a jackalope that hasnt got his antlers yet.Give the little fellers some time to grow some antlers and then you can score them.I had an uncle that lived way out in the hills. He only ate what he shot.....no grocerie stores. He didnt believe in shooting jackalopes without antlers. He just thought they deserved a fair chance at growing up.He starved to death though...........wonder why?

If you are a typical hot blooded Buck Rabbit, I would guess you would "score" Rabbits in the typical accepted way, from whence comes the expression to breed like Rabbits.

If you shoot them young enough you don't have to score them theys tender enough without having to score them with a knife.
If'n you don't know how to fix Rabbit try this:
Salt and pepper ole brer Rabbit dredge em in flour. Introduce them to hot bacon grease don't cook em too long or they'll be tough. When theys done throw some flour into the drippins and make a good rue, not too dark, pour in some milk and cook till properly thick season to taste. In the mean time you done made some good scratch biscuits and cooked up some mustard greens in bacon grease. Thank the Lord for making such a good meal possible. Then pour yourself a good glass of tea or maybe milk. Pick out a good piece of ole brer Rabbit and tear one of them biscuits open baptise it with a good helping of gravy and get yourself a mess of them greens and dig in. If you ain't hongry yet you don't know 'bout fried rabbit and fixins.
Please don't use any of them whapum biscuits in a cardboard sleeve. If you do you'll ruin the whole mess. You want to use scratch biscuits, you know, the kind you have to choke off. Back home we call them cats head biscuits. For desert, if theys any biscuits left tear one of them biscuits in half and apply a proper amount of butter, notice I said butter, and then pour on a goodly amount of good old ribbon cane syrup.
Now understand I really believe the Lord will be serving such fixins for supper in heaven when we get there.
