I'm surprised the 25-20 got the bid and not the 28 ga. The 28 ga is the rarest barrel you have for sale right now. Mine sold last fall for $380 just for the barrel but it did come with the forearm.

Fits on mine, only difference is the firing pins.
A shotgun firing pin is rounder and the rifle firing pin is sharper, they say the 219 firing pin will pierce a shotgun primer but I've switched barrels before and never had that happen with any of them, I think it's just a Bu** sh** story.

Depends on the make of primer Joe. Some are softer than others.

The shotgun pin is larger in diameter I have one . I would have to drill out the pin hole to use it. I don't want to do that.

Question Will the 28 ga Fit on a 219 Savage? Steve ALL 220, 220L, 220AC, 220PC, 219, 219B, & 219L barrels will fit Model 219 and early Model 220 receivers. Conversely, Model 219 & early Model 220 barrels are no good at all on any of the later guns for more than the 1st/only shot. The reason, FWIW, is that the first generation model 219 rifles & 220 shotguns were striker-fired guns, recocked by the action of a top opening lever. The later top-lever models 219B, 220PC, 220AC, and the side opening lever models 219L & 220L were all fired by an internal hammer which was recocked during the barrel swing-open by a cocking stud on the side of the bbl lug engaging a cocking hook lying inside the RH receiver sidewall. The early bbls don't have the cocking stud needed to recock the later actions; and the early actions can be recocked regardless if the bbl has a cocking stud/not, by operating the top lever. .
It ain't no fun, when the rabbit's got the gun
