Thinking about picking up a used Mark X in 7x57 to complement my Ruger #1 in that caliber; the action is the usual Mark X of which I've had several so that's familiar, but I do have a few questions about the 7x57 in particular, for those who have had them: 1. Rifling twist? 2. Throat length? 3. Performance with 140-160gr bullets? Any pics of your Mark X 7x57's would be appreciated

Had a very early one that was set up for 175s. Would drop 5 Privis in 1". Also accurate w/140 TSXs seated out as far as the magazine allowed.
Hey NSAQAM, Larry is very "IN", LOL You also dishonor the 28th division by using the unit patch as an insult. As for the liar, welcher Bricktop, his day is fast approaching. Coward trolls won't accept PMs. How's the phantom "campfire" coming ?

I have a pre-64 Model 70 and a Ruger Model 77. I've killed mule deer and Columbian blacktails with the Model 70 while it was loaded with 140 grain pills and it worked wonderfully. The Model 77 has killed Alaska/Yukon moose, black bear, Dall sheep, mountain goat, Roosevelt's elk and caribou while being loaded with 140 grain bullets and it performed very well. Pick your broadside shots and make them accurate and you shouldn't have any problems.

I have owned 4 Interarms Mark Xs in 7x57 and all of them were throated for 175 grain bullets and had 8.9"(?) ROT barrels. I have shot a variety of 140 to 175 grain bullets from them with good results. My only remaining Interarms Mark X in 7x57 is a rifle that I bought from member Weagle back in 2004 and subsequently trimmed the barrel back to fit a mannlicher stock. It is a consistent 2 MOA rifle, possibly due to the mannlicher stock's additional pressure points.
Just a heads up on a characteristic of some Interarms Mark Xs that I find annoying. If the rifle that you're looking at has the 'butterknife" style bolt handle, you need to be aware that the way the bolt handle is attached to the body of the bolt gives it a high lift, so you have to use higher mounts to allow that the ocular lens clear the bolt handle when you cycle the action.
