I currently have a Remington model 7 in 300 SAUM but I really love the looks of the Remington XCR II and was thinking of trading in my model 7 for a XCR II in 300 WSM ? so what do you think I should do ? also I currently have 2 XCR II's one in 300 RUM and one in 338 Win mag

Man I wouldn't part with your little 300saum model 7. The WSM has no gain over the saum in my opinion. You have a great combo with your Model 7 in that caliber. I am also a huge model 7 junkie

Just my 2 cents

SAUM - WSM: same - same

I've had both, shot things with both - a 180 Partition at 2950 kills things really dead. It doesn't matter if it says SAUM or WSM on the casehead.

BUT you need a WSM XCR..... wink

If Remington would just reintroduce the Model 7 XCR again in either stainless or black Trinyte, slam 300WSM in that again and then you will have a rifle!!
What is wrong with Remington's marketing department? Wouldn't they produce something that people want and max their profits? I'm a lucky one that has an original. Would deffinately buy another.

Shoot the shizz out of the SAUM. When the tube is toast, re-bbl to 300 WSM

Life is good and shooting is the bonus wink

Like I said in the other post.. Slap that 7 in a McEdge and you'll forget all about the XCR.

Agreed, especially if they'd put it in a 7mm too.

The Seven XCR was an outstanding iteration for the average guy wanting a great light hunting rifle, especially when dropped into a decent stock.

Sounds like your more of a remington guy. Stick with the saum, the wsm belongs in the model 70 anyways... whistle.

SAUM is very good; But if you rather use XCRIIs you better get another. Both SAUM and WSM are nice.
You already have a 300 and a 338 covered so I'd opt for a 7mm......
