A friend just stumbles on to one of these 6 inch barrel in stainless. Asked me what I thought it was worth. I have no experience with Colt values but I think he stole it at 400 bucks, It is in excellent condition, though a little dirty with a few scuff/handling marks. I think they are not made anymore? Is that correct? What say the knowledgeable members of the fire. What is it worth? Thanks

He did, because they bring and are worth more .
A Doe walks out of the woods today and says, that is the last time I'm going to do that for Two Bucks.

Yeah, he did good on that one at 400.00. He can make money on it if he decides to do so. They are selling for tall money these days.

I don't think that's far off. You see quite a few Trooper Mk.III's around here for $500-550. I've owned a couple of them and they are good guns, though I've never owned a "King Cobra" version of them. I think they were actually the Mk.IV. That's a good price just on the basis of what guns are bringing right now before even adding in the usual premium for the four letters.

He stole it. Around here they are going crazy high. Went to an estate auction (2 guys wanted it) about 2 months ago and a 2 1/2" King Cobra brought $2150. Most of the 6" in the condition you describe are bringing about $1K here.
He could probably clean it up and double his money if he wanted.

Why did you have to bring this up. I almost forgot about the one I traded off years ago.

Very good price. Also a great shooting gun. I wish I wouldn't have sold mine. I belive it is the same frame as the Anaconda. At least the grips fit both.

If I could find a King Cobra in decent shape for $600, I'd but it on the spot! They go for around $1000 here too.

Ah fond memories. King Cobra was the first gun I ever bought myself. First tax return I ever got I bought a 6" stainless. Man that thing would sing. I probably put 1500 rds through her in one summer. One of the many I regret trading off.
