Guys, this is my first and only 99 and I just purchased a scope, but know nothing about mounting it on my rifle. The rifle has two holes for the scope on each side. What should I purchase to mount it correctly? All, help for this novice, would be greatly appreciated. I think 99's were way ahead of there time and are great firearms. Thanks in advance.

A post mil E is factory D&Ted. 2 piece weaver bases, (I believe they are #14 for the rear and # 19 for the front), should work.

Do you mean that there are two holes both in front of and behind the bolt drilled in line with the barrel or that the holes are side by side?

Ok, lets try again. Are the holes about 45 degrees from top center on each side?

There are two holes on each side of the bolt on top,and are in line with the barrel. They are in the center in line with the front sight. I hope this helps.

Any standard 99 scope mount should do. I'd go with Weaver 19 and 14 blocks and compatible rings. Normally you'd describe the holes as in front of and behind the bolt as most folks think of the end of the barrel under the front sight as the front of the gun. wink
