Sheeit. I wish I'd caught sumptin' dat beeg! eek mad grin

I had to suffer the disgrace of having another man catch something for me to eat. Cooked it for me too. That damned Opie and his southern customs. If this was 100 years ago I'd have had to have disemboweled myself on the beach. Good thing all around, I guess. Petey missed out on what would've been a challenge, though. Bet it'd have taken him a whole day to drag me off and bury me.

That pinche cabron has stolen from me, damaged or destroyed multiple personal items, tripped me and otherwise has assaulted me, and still he has the balls to beg me to throw some of Roger's stuff for him to destroy.

Hey, all good, but know this: he starts stealing food from me, it's ON.

Bait.

We'd think you would have wanted it that way.

Man, that's reason enough for me not to go anywhere near you guys, even if I could!

Bait's all that I'd be good for.

While there's some for who's utility might best fit that function, you sir are not in that category by a long shot cool

On the other hand, there needs to be some sort of understanding going in as to the dispostion of the remains of ANYONE who should happen to pass away while way down there on the beach. I mean, its gotta be at least a seven-hour round trip to go and BUY bait....

Cheaper than the crematorium and more useful, to boot!

Excellent!

Roger, does the bait sit on the bottom, ala catfishing, or do you use some sort of float to keep it off of the bottom?

on the bottom, the shark baits are paddled out anywhere from 3-400 yds to a 1000 yds, but some big sharks have been caught right out of the first gut. we use anywhere from 1-3# of weight to keep them in one spot depending on current.

I was getting a bit concerned when I saw those weights in the first set of tackle photos!

I thought we were going to have to cast those things! grin

I got smaller ones to cast out on the smaller rods 8-10 oz. I'll pick up some even smaller ones.

We just wade out in the surf with rod and reel and cast, reel line in and cast again. I did not have my rig set up at all like the needs were, so I kind watched the beer a lot under the shade.
Going to get something that'll work for this trip.
I am just waiting for the one in the last group to step in and say this is what you need.
Mine was kind of set up for dropping off a pier and waiting for the fish to bite kind of deal.
So who's wants to talk? whistle

Well, you'll just have to show up and provide instruction!

I'm all out of Grizzly Milk, so you can bring some of that with you too! laugh

I apologize, Ken, I was too busy looking over my shoulder to make sure my get-away path wasn't blocked. grin

I'll try harder next time to pay attention. Maybe take a Valium or four before we start, Or drink a half-gallon of Grappa...
