I believe I did try it but I was very young. I remember the older fellers cut the big turtle up and the meat was in some water in a large stainless bowl. I remember watching that bowl as it seemed that cleaned meat was never going to stop moving.

I don't remember what it tasted like but I'd try it again.

I've eaten quite a few suckers. Usually smoked or pickled.

Turtle I'd love to try. I'll bet ND knows where to find some big ones next to Chickenbuck.

His shell still resides on my trophy shelf in my office. Some of the turtle biologists (we have 4 no less) ain't so amused I suppose.

A older fella I used to work with love them. He'd take everyone we could catch. There was a spot where I turkey hunted you could catch big snapping turtles. I showed him and love it. He got a damn big one out of there, I don't remember how much it weighed, but it was big...big enough that there was no way I was going to grab it.

He had a habit of cleaning them into a bucket, and not emptying the bucket for weeks. Which wouldn't have been a big deal other than he took his truck to work with the bucket in the truck.

That is something you can't unsmell.

He was head shot - once with a .22 and then several times with that Benjamin air rifle. But those things don't die like normal animals. Tied him to a tree overnight.

I had turtle soup once. It was like a creamy vegetable beef. Very tasty!

Sorry, was down to the mothership yesterday. yes, I fished Bald Weagle a few times for 'skies. There is some good habitat around the island....off the NW and NE sides are underwater points/flats. A nice inside corner between them. They are really green there.

That lake gets pretty green about late june doesn't it? I'll probably try it out a few times this year.

That's just beach gravel - pea gravel - that dried stuck to his shell. No holes in his carapace which is sitting on a shelf a few feet from me right now.

Had a good time yesterday. Took a tour of the Ranger boat factory. Interesting to see how they are made. They also make Stratos and Champion boats there and it was nice to see the differences in the boats. If you get near Flippin Ar. it is worth the time to see how they are made.

Did you buy a Ranger TJAY?

I like the 621 but its a little more, ok a lot, more than I want to spend. The wife tells me the boat we have is working just fine for our use and I do agree with her.

What? You don't want to spend $70K on a boat?

I think I would rather go on 7 10,000 dollar hunts.
