Does anyone have any experiences with the T/C Ventures? I have read alot of good things about them but would like to hear from "real" people.

The one I had was very accurtate in 270. Shot some 30yr old 130gr Rem corelokts and it would group them .80 shot the Win Power Points 150gr. into .65 groups and that was without letting the barrel cool down either.
MAGA! This is the way!

One of our gun club members brought an Icon .223 to the range one day. I watched him sight it in and once he was centred he started shooting groups under an inch. He let me try it and the one group I shot was well under an inch. (factory ammo)
The next time I saw him at the range he had another one in .308. He was so impressed with the first one he went back to pick up the second before the store ran out.

My buddy's Icon in 204 Ruger is not very pretty to my eye, but wow, is it ever a tack-driver. Sub half-inch, out of the box, with factory ammo.

Info on the T/C Icon is welcome too. I picked up an Icon in .243...most accurate out of the boxd factory rifle Ive ever had...no bedding, no trigger work etc...just put bullets in it!

Okay, here is the kicker. What caliber are you going to get?

That is my next dilema. Something in the "mid" calibers. 270-308. The shots where I hunt are normally 150 yards and less... max would be 250 yards. I have 243...280...308 barrels for my Encore but they can be sold. I also reload so I have bullets for .243 .277 7mm. and 30 calibers. So I would rather get something that uses those bullet choices.

I have an Icon 300WM and have been thinking of buying another. Love the gun. Trigger is good and is really accurate. I recommend them without hesitation.

I really like the feel of the trigger too and how the bolt feels when operating it. I am leaning towards two guns. A 243 for coyotes and deer for the girlfriend... and a 270 for deer and antelope for me. Hmmmmmm....

+1 Nice range of bullet choices and according to my reload books has a nice wide power range.

Maybe the 7mm-08 could be loaded soft for the girlfriend? I always hear of erratic performance with the .243, or is that internet myth?
