I'd like to go on one.

But that is a great way to look at it.

Chickenbuck north is headed to chickenbuck south for some fish camp seasonal chores.

Dusty needs to have his boat dock back in the water along with some other little springtime chores that we hope to accomplish.

Chickenbuck way south is headed to work tomorrow. grin

I do plan to take a play from the chickenbuck north playbook and smoke some ribs on the grill tomorrow. I have to go in and do paperwork all day, frown so I might as well do something I like to go along with it.

Going to try some Memphis Style. Preparation tonight.

Chickenbuck midsouth is hosting a birthday party for a couple of newly minted four year old boys. I will have ten kids who are around four yrs at my house tomorrow midday. Please say a prayer for my ears and my sanity! Then gonna do the RMEF banquet in the evening.

Good Lord are the ribs starting to smell good. I have them going with apple wood and chopped up Jim Beam Whiskey barrel chips. It is hard to control the temps on the webber grill though.

I spent 6am-11pm on a prescribed fire yesterday, improved LOTS of habitat for pheasants, saw over 400 on the property. woke up today exhausted still and kept my promise to my son that we would fix up his battery powered 4 wheeler. I added a 6v battery to make it a total of 18v to give it a little more oomf when he kicks it down. I heard for can take it to 24v if you want to, but we're trying the 18 for now. I also got some 12" bike tires I can cut and stretch on the back for more traction (he'll need it with the speed upgrade) there is a whole website devoted to this, you should see the things people do to their kids' powerwheels, lol its pretty cool. all this rib talk is making me hungry, we have thawed out chicken breasts so I might fire up the grill and see if I can turn them into something edible

they are too smart for that.
the last fire wrapped up at 9pm, it was a HUGE inferno, the night sky was lit up and you could see ditch parrots (pheasants) flying out all over the place in the glow, it was a pretty cool sight.
had folks from all over lined around the section to watch the show. I've heard a lot of folks complain how bad fire is and thinks its devastating to habitat and wildlife, but once it grows back in, aint nothin better. its quite a sight, I love it.

turkeys are out in full force this morning, had 6 toms between the front door and kendra's car. they were showing off to the 30 hens down the alley. Cale yelped to them and made em gobble about a dozen times, he thought it was the best to make them "talk".

Yesterday our morning was beautiful. I was sweating in a t-shirt while working in the yard. Then a cold front moved in and I was in a winter jacket with the hood up and gloves on.

What?? Does mother nature think its MARCH or something???

grin

Well I found a house to rent. Nice little 3 bedroom. I can move in after the new hot water heater, toilet & vanity are installed. A friend of mine has it and I was doing some painting for him to get it ready to rent. I was kidding and said "I will rent it", he said really? He lowered the rent, no deposit, and he will pay the water, sewer, & garbage. Very excited!

I am out of order until further notice. My "stupid people" filter needs cleaning and my "give a damn" batteries have run out.
