No need to get it coated. They will be coming out with a stainless version later in the year. This is what Chris Bozzi, the GM, told me:
"We had originally decided that the M24B would be steel only (grit blasted and black oxide for finish), but strong interest from several markets we had not anticipated has caused us to rethink our position. As such, stainless barreled, and all stainless M24B's will be available this year, though we have not yet driven a stake in the ground on the target date."
