I shot this one recently with my 835 and Star Dot choke. This was the only shell I shot of the 3.5 #7's. I'm saving the rest for turkey season. The temp was about 75 degrees, and that is a tape measured 40yd from tip of choke to target.

That would be one dead turkey for sure. You may want to see what 3" and 2 3/4" would do. They would be a heck of a lot softer on the shoulder.

An 835,Star Dot choke and #5 Winchester supreme's will kill a gobbler farther than I care to shoot them(out past 50yds)...just can't see spending the $$$ on the Hevi shot loads

There's 125 shot in the head and neck. 30 of those shot were in the vertebrae area. I was aiming at the cent of the neck. That pattern is almost really deadnut.

5's are ok. But I myself would rather shoot the Hevi-13 #7's anyday of the week.

To each his own,I've been whacking them with #5's for years and it works both close and long,so I follow the old adage ..."if it ain't broke don't fix it"
