I just got the official go ahead from the wife.....Berettaman is going elk hunting in Idaho this year! Wahooooo!  Man am I looking forward to it too. Berettawife said it will "cost me". That is the not-so-good part.  I am thinking bedroom set. She is sick of the garage sale, mismatched parts we have now methinks. Tomorrow is shaping up to be pretty busy and then off to the Nether Regio.....errr the Netherlands. Dunno if I will have access over there, so this may be hasta la pasta for awhile! Hold down the fort whilst I am gone. Oh, and Stan...doggone it, try and behave yourself for once, would ya?

Greetings from rainy Portland. Rained everyday so far. Might make it out S
almon fishing if the weather clears. I'm using ny DIL's Mac Book and the keyboard is giving me a problem. No backspace key, and deleting is a bit troublesome.

Hi guys, I have a little news and a favor to ask. Dusty has been treating for cancer for a week now. (our uncle dusty) He was just recently diagnosed. He says he feels good, and he truly does display a positive attitude. He also told me it was ok to share this information, he said he'd just as soon be open about it as he doesn't care to hide it. It was just tonight that I asked him and got the ok to share this news here. He has cancer in the top of one lung, in the lymph nodes and in 3 spots on the brain. He has been doing radiation treatment on the brain for 7 days, he has one week left of radiation then the plan is to switch to chemo for the lung and lymph nodes. That is the roadmap right now and that is as far as we can see ahead on the map. Dusty is in excellent shape, he exersises regularly with lengthy walks and he is just generally active overall. He is strong physically, strong mentally and seemingly fearless. I really don't know what else to say on the matter. I wanted to get that out there and I wanted to invite your prayers and supportful words as Dusty checks in here quite regularly. I'll leave it at that for now, other than the fact that I'd like to express my best wishes and prayers for a man that is dear to me. And I get to be the first to do so (here)

Uncle Dusty, I'm sure you know I consider you a good friend and that you are in my prayers. He says he feels good, and he truly does display a positive attitude I've never know Dusty to be any other way. In fact, he's one of the happiest people I know. There really isn't a better person to spend time with in a camp. You are one of the reasons I make the trip. I do believe we should go fishing Dusty, if you feel up to it. Tom

Thanks everybody, Dusty called me this morning and wanted me to know he has been told his cancer type is non small cell, which is slower and easier to treat as I understand it.
