There are 2 times a year that I look forward to mowing the lawn. The first and last times. The first because it's the beginning of spring and the last because deer season is just around the cornor.
I like that. Probably could mow ours now but I haven't raked it or anything. I'm debating if i want to or not.

Didn't rake mine. Just blew out the shrubs and bagged up the leaves with the grass.

What's is this "rake" think you speak of? I've never heard of such a process.

I was thinking about firing up the riding mower so ma can chop the winter's dog logs and misc garbage in the yard. Once we get all the garbage chopped up I'll sprinkle out some lawn fertilizer so we can grow that grass out good and tall. I like it about a foot or so high. It's nice if you can get the grass a little taller than the dandelions, I'm fussy that way with my yard. I like to have the place looking nice ya know.

Mulching dog poop....why didn't I think of that...?

Well you're probably just not as fussy about lawncare. You're just not one of "those guys"

I was unhooking my mower (think large 3 batwing) from the tractor yesterday, the jack peg was broke so I used a handiman and was going to put it on a black of wood. as soon as I lifted it and pulled the hitch pin. I saw it start to shift sideways and thought "thats odd but it shouldn't go far" at that moment I remembered the handiman and jumped to the side, it whacked my right arm so hard I'm bruised from my shoulder to below my elbow and it hurts to bend it, I doubt anything is hurt bad, but it sure is sore. I'm so thankful it didn't hit me in the back, it would have likely pinned me against the tire or 3 point and really hurt me. little man is sick today with a fever over 101 so I have to stay home with him. probably need to rest the arm too. shoveling after I did it was painful.

Funny how heavy stuff that ain't even alive or powered can reach out and hurt ya so bad. Logs have a way of doing that too. Sounds like you were just barely quick enough.
I've got a lot more trees to play with this spring. Always have to be paying attention.

Ryan, you need to get the jack pin replaced now, befor it can grab you again.
Hope the little guy gets better fast so he can enjoy what the easter bunny brings him.
Dave, I passed your solution to the dog logs on to my son.

yes sir I know I do, I have a replacement I just need to weld in place, I won't need the mower for a while now, maybe I can get it fixed when I get spring work done. couldn't have picked a worse time for my boy to get sick and me hurt.

Three weeks ago I had six scoops of top soil placed and leveled in the back yard.I then limed and seeded and covered with wheat straw. We have had sun and rain mixes which is great for grass growing and I now have an outstanding looking new grass crop in the previously disheveled looking back yard. My wife and myself pass on to each of you the wish for a nice nice Easter weekend.

You and your family have a nice Easter too Stan. I'm at the office grabbing a bite to eat before I head back out in the rain...Not my favorite activity at work, for sure.

Tom, Here they are, both from D2 steel. Top one is Blackwood with white liners and the bottom is Mopane wood with red liners. Jeff

Jeff's knives work too! I've had a couple of his knives along elk hunting on 2 different trips.
Well i put the frame connectors in the roadrunner today. She's rock solid now.
I'm taking a break but i might go out and do some sanding on the body yet tonight.
Happy easter everybody!
