New lambs always make me smile. In amongst all the political, murders, and Christian bashing I thought some of you might like a smile.

While this mom was getting a Spring fashion update. The fleece on Icelandic sheep have a natural break and can be pulled off my hand without shearing.

This lamb was fretting...

And her twin was napping in a feed tray under the hen house.

Lots of twins this year. Here is one automatic and one stick shift as my daughter refers to them.

These are all automatics.

The marking on this little lady make her a real keeper. This will change as she grows so that the under hair is white and the outer guard hair is black. Spun up it make a yarn that sells out in the first hour it is offered.

Expecting at least a dozen more. Will post as they show up.

Cool...

I didn't know you could peel the fleece of a sheep naturally. I knew there were drugs that can weaken it at the hairline and allow it to be removed, but didn't know you could do it naturally.

Interesting.....

Is is natural on some primitive breads. It makes for nicer wearing wool garments as there is no sharp cut ends.

Neat pictures. You must work about 18 hours a day. The lambs are cute and fun to play with, but I hate taking care of sheep. I spent too many hours in the bottom of a wool sack when I was a kid. All the old guys thought it was funny as hell too.

How bucolic. Nice for those not familiar with bucolic. Not a literal definition, btw.

Our neighbor raises a few sheep (he's semi-retired). Always fun seeing the new lambs. I got to help shear them once. Put them in a head lock and sit them on their butt. Lots of fun.

No wool sacks here. Each fleece is kept separate. They are washed then combed into rovings. Hand spinners want to know the name of the sheep and like pictures. We like to sell wool so that is how we do it.

Yep!

The lamb games are already beginning. Before dark the get together in a mob and frolic. It is a riot to watch.

Jealous! I so wish for lambs around here, but they're almost gold plated based on the prices, yikes!

Beautiful critters! Thanks for sharing smile

Scott;
Thanks again for sharing your wonderfully peaceful photos with us, I for one never tire of them.

The scene is indeed bucolic and I'll freely admit I had to look it up. blush

As always you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Sad to think of all the children in this country who will never get a chance to touch or hear or smell those critters or know what life is really all about.

Great pix, thanks.
