If they both shot great, which one would you use? It would be primairly for open shots on medium sized game...goats, sheep and black bear. Thanks.

The 120 at 3500fps and the 140 at 3300fps are both killers. Pick one.

I've only shot and hunted with the 140gr TTSX so far in my 7mm WSM, but on one deer last winter I got a shot where the bullet exited going length-wise through it. Pretty impressive. I killed a couple more as they were broadside and the bullets all exited as well.

Those would be what I call Gorilla loads. Meaning.....after the first firing one has to use Gorilla glue to keep the primers seated in them........ cool

Gotcha...grin

Well, just to set your mind at ease, I've gotten between 3 and 5 firings out of one lot of WW brass so far, depending on the batch, and it's all still going strong. That's with a 162 at 3100fps, and 140 at 3300fps...

There are a few different loadings that are in the 3300 range with 140s and 3500 with 120s for the 7 shortie. No reason not to run 'em that way if you can. I personally back off a bit, just 'cause I don't need all of it here in Mid-MO. I did load a 150 gr Nosler Partition somewhere between 3120 and 3150 fps couple of years ago for our NM elk hunting trip. Worked like a champ.

Pick the one that stays above the minimum opening speed the farthest (1800-2000fps, iirc). Both will penetrate fine.
