My Dad got this one right after WWII when he got out of the Navy , it was made about 1926.

Bluing is gone but the mechanics of it are good. The bore is toast. I am going to put a liner in it.

Mike,

I've got one like yours, but mine has been re-blued. (cuts collectors value)

Mine has a tang peep sight and is a great shooter.

You can't find them in very good condition. They got used like they were supposed to.

Yep. My first rifle was one of those my dad and my mom's dad got for me in the early 1970s. It was pretty well used then and isn't any newer now. I put somewhere beyond 100,000 rounds down the barrel. Grandpa brought me a half gallon peanut butter jar of crusty ammo every time he'd come visit. I had to wipe each cartridge clean of "green" to get 'em to chamber. It still shoots 5 shots into about 3/8 of an inch at 25 yards with a rest using the coarse stock sights and good ammo. Love that old gun.
