I am intending to mount a Leupold 3.5 x 10 x 50mm M1 Tactical scope on a Remington 700 in .222 Rem. What height rings do I need to provide clearance for 50mm objective. By the way this scope is a 30mm tube. Thanks

What kind of base or bases are you going to use?

I presently have Weaver style 2 piece bases installed topped with a 4X cheap scope. Would you recommend changing these?

I was interested in the bases since some are taller than others, and the height descriptions for different ring styles can mean different things.

On steel Weaver style bases (Warne), I use Warne 30mm medium height rings with a 50mm Swaro having an adjustable objective. These provide plenty of clearance for a varmint contour Rem 700 barrel.
