I've decided to hunt mule deer this year with my 7mmRM. It hasn't been out for a few years. I also decided to develop a new load using 150g Ballistic Tips (picked-up some seconds at Shooter's Pro Shop) and H4350.

Here are first 100yd load results after firing a round each at 61, 62 and 63g. 63g had no case stress signs and bolt lift was easy. First shot on paper, scope adjust for second shot, final adjustment yielded shots 3,4 and 5. I changed targets and fired one more 3-shot group.





I know the answer to my question is -- Go Hunt! However, what would you do next to tighten these groups? I am thinking go deeper with seating depth - maybe try .030 off?

Since your concerned with the velocity I'd wait and see what the results are. As long as you get no pressure signs you may be able increase it to or near the manual level which should/may reduce that group some.

I'd shoot them farther out before I'd change anything.
