Prefer a 308 but other calibers may work as well.

Sounds like a fun rifle, but I don't think I would be able to handle it.

I believe that is the new fluted hunter model.it the superlites have a synthetic stock. Maybe I could just pick one up and switch stocks.

OK, check Cabela's and Bass Pro then, because when I was looking, I could find the blued/fluted in a syn stock, but not the hunter/ss I wanted, then got pointed to sheel's. They do not show them on their www I don't believe, but they have them in stock. They are limited in calibers too.

Not to steal this thread but what else makes these lighter? Just the fluted barrel? Could I flute the stainless barrel on my .243 lite?

They are not all that difficult to track down.
I have seen them stocked in our local Cabela's store.

Good luck!

Local Sportsman's Warehouse has .223, .22-250 and .308's on the shelf, but they want $699.99. I'd like to have one, but can't quite convince myself they're worth that much.
