Not as good as the Victorys.

Better then the original Conquest by quite a bit.

Some people are having problems with their short eye relief.

Recommended as a good one for the price.

Personally I would be on the lookout for a good deal on a Victory FL.

For some reviews go to birdforum.com-look under the Zeiss sub forum on the binocular forum.

The Meopta HD is good but still behind the times in the weight department at around 30 oz. Some consider this a plus in a 10x as they are more steady to hold. Some do not have problems holding a 24 oz 10x bino steady. The ergos/ length of a particular bino also dictate how easy they are to hold steady.

I have no problems holding my 10x 24 oz Victory FL steady.

The Conquest HD is a lighter bino and for some may be the best choice.

There's lots of good stuff in that price range. The Pentax DCF SP ED's are fantastic.

The Pentax DCF ED in 8 or 10x42 is lacking in FOV compared to the previous mentioned binoculars. Enough of a loss a FOV that it would be very noticeable against the other two binos in discussion.

Because of this I could not recommend it at $1000.

I could. I would also recommend a used Steiner Preregrine....as good as anything you'll ever look through IMO. A Leupold GR HD, Cabelas Euro HD, Zen Ray ED3, used SLCneu, Nikon Premier.....we're talking hunting game, not looking at mites on a sparrow's azz.

Build quality not quite up to the big boys, but mine withstood everything through 2 hunting seasons, and I can be a little hard on equipment sometimes. Optically, they are fantastic, within a nats hair of the SLCneu. My only gripe was the crappy eyepiece and objective covers that wanted to come off all the time. .
