Private detective. Maybe a bail bondsman for a small fee.

Does the local LEO have any duty to serve for civil papers?

Is for divorce. We both moved out of state and I just know what city she's in and all I have is her email.

I've used this a few times with decent results. Might be worth a try.

Couldn't a attorney be able to get around the "service" by having it "published"?

The best way to find someone is to owe them money. Or at least make them think you do.

I've tried Facebook, but you have to be a friend to see any of her info. And declaration through publication is an option, but will cost more time and $$$. Tried the suggestions listed so far (what I can at least) with no luck. Thanks for the suggestions though.

I had that problem a few weeks ago. I paid an Internet site to give me current information, but the information wasn't any good. (Not th efirst time for that.)

I finally sought the help of my brother, who is a sheriff's deputy. He said he couldn't use the official resources of the sheriff's department for my personal request, but he asked me a bunch of questions and made some calls -- questions like:
Place of employment (or former place(s) of employment).
Interests (to see what clubs or organizations the person might be in).
 Old phone numbers and addresses.
Is the person licensed (beautician, nurse, etc.)?
 Children's names (or other relatives).

He went at it like a detective. It worked.

Steve.

Have it announced for a week on the radio station where she lives that she has won Publisher House Sweepstakes and tell her where she needs to pick up the check.

If you know the town and it only has one Walmart then all you need do is hang out there for a week, you'll see the person.

Wal-Mart and McDonalds, sure signs of American civilization, but kinda sad when you think about it.

Try www.whitepages.com It is free and quick. She may or may not be listed, but it will not cost you anything to find out.
