Very nice boat Dave.

You guys put more stock in what the gps says for speed vs. the speedo on the dash?

A buddy of mines boat reads 55 - 56 on the dash and the GPS tells him he's doing 50 - 51.

GPS IS the speed. Speedo can vary a bunch.

Mine does the same thing. Dash says I'm doing 50, GPS says 42.

Trust the GPS. Boat speedos are notoriously inaccurate.

I did glance down at my dash mounted speedo after observing a consistant 47 and change on the gps. Dash speedo was reading close to the same, maybe reading a bit faster.

I go with what the GPS says.

Heck I go with the GPS on my Ford Diesel. Seems the speedo is about 10% slow.
Need to run 74 to get a true 70mph. Always wondered why the heck everyone passed me on the HWY. One of the benefits was no tickets for a long time but I do want to run at least the speed limit. laugh

FWIW, all three of my Fords run their speedos well above the GPS estimates. At highway speeds, (70-80 mph) the speedometers are reading 4-7 mph higher than the GPS. The Edge is the worst and the F150 is the best. It's annoying.

Brent, my Edge runs about 3 MPH high Vs the GPS and radar.

I wonder why so much variation? I don't know what it did with the original (crappy) tires that it came with. They are long gone but the replacements are nominally the same size and this discrepancy has been the case the whole time.

Do you like your Edge? I hate the thing for some reason, but it is reliable, overpowered (is that possible), and runs great, but feels like I'm driving a bathtub or something like that. I'd never buy another. Oh, the brakes on these do truly suck.

Sorry for the digression...

Nice boat Dave. Real nice boat.

My speedo in the truck is two MPH slower than the gps. It could have something to do with the size of tires on the truck. The truck speedo's are probably all set the same, but you can get different tire/wheel packages for them.

Maybe not, but it's a thought.
