I can buy them from Starline for $147.00 per 1000. why should I buy them from you at twice the cost? You are WAAAY to high.

Most people don't need or want 1000 and I'm not asking anywhere near twice the cost. Break it down if you can do the math.

The $25/100 cost is for someone that just needs a little brass to play with and it's still a lot less that Winchester or Remington. Starline does not sell direct at this quantity. And it cost the same to ship 100 Flat Rate as it does 300.

$60/300 shipped minus $5 for online Flat Rate and insurance of say $1 per box equals $18/100 to me. Never mind keeping up with the orders, packing the boxes, going to the Post Office, and making sure I pay the credit card I ordered with on time, etc. Starline gets $147/1000 plus insurance. I bought 2000 for a total of $296.25. So my cost is $14.81/100. I'm making $3.19 per hundred for my effort. After this 2000 are gone I'm thinking about taking the wife to Hawaii with the extra cash, NOT. I'm selling 1800 and keeping 200, actually 208 because there were a few extras in the box. Again, if you can possibly do the math (1800@$18/100=$324minus$296.25cost), you'll come up with a "profit" of $27.75 and 208 "free" cases for my efforts. If I sold all 2000 my profit would be less than $64.

For 500 10mm cases from Starline you'll pay about $87 including insurance. That's $17.40 TYD per hundred. Now look back at my $60/300 price. For the convenience of ordering a lower qty somebody will pay $20/100 instead of $17.40 and they can send me whatever payment works best. For now Starline seems to have 10mm brass in stock so anyone that wants a qty or 500 or 1000 can probably get quick shipment. Usually that is not the case. I waited about 5 weeks for these and about that long for the last 1000 I got, which I unashamedly sold 700 of for about these same prices. It's a lucrative business for us greedy profit mongers. Even so this is probably the last time I'll do the brass deal.

Next time please do a little better on your mental calculations before accusing me of asking "twice the cost".

And thanks for the bump.

OK your cost of $25 per 100 divided by Starline cost of $14.70 per 100 (25/14.70=1.70) = 170% more than starline cost. Your still WAAY WAAY too expensive.

MidwayUSA has 10mm brass (Starline) for $17.79 per hundred.

Any way you do the math it still comes out the same way.

Ya you're too expensive

Please don't stop selling brass at a good price.
Some of us don't need more than a few hundred at a time.
I need some 10mm right now but am not in a position to afford them at the time. Keep up the good work.

Geez Ed, try to order a hundred of anything from Starline and see how far you get past the snicker. I asked if there was a price break beyond 1000 and was told with an appropriate laugh "Yes" at something like a 55 gal drum full. They don't do small quantities. The $25/100 shipped price is as low as I'll go and very reasonable. Check gunbroker.com for the same qty of 10mm Starline. You'll find the cheapest price here:

http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=247923740

It's $18.49/100 plus $6 shipping. $24.49/100 delivered. So he beats me by one half cent per case. And feel free to buy from Midway. I promise the shipping on 100 cases will move the total higher than that. But you will get a nice email from Larry Potterfield telling you how much he appreciates your business. Got one from him just yesterday.

Just a suggestion but if I'm doing such a disservice why don't you order a couple thousand cases and sell them here for what you consider a more appropriate price. Matter of fact consider that a challenge. I'm sure it would be appreciated.

Good luck-they're still way too expensive.

Hey Alabama,
Leave the guy alone! It's much more appropiate to send him an email direct to him. NOT on open forum. Shows you have no class.
And if your going to accuse someone - better be damned sure and can prove it. Like the guy showed....... after all that he barely makes any money at all. Certainly not enough to berate him like this. I see people trying to sell guns on here used for more than they cost brand new, and also some very good deals. Your just supposed to be intelligent enough to figure it out and move on.
Not belittle people in public.
I don't know the seller, but seems to me it's fair enough.
If you don't think so, move on. No one is forcing you to buy anything.

Everything's cool. I'm not in it for anything but some brass. No problem with a little disagreement. Just sold 300 so now there are 1500 left.

I am curious as well, and would like to know if it is nickel plated.

+1 on Alabama Ed being a twit. What was said might have been OK in a private message, NOT OK in the opne forum here.
