I am setting up a new reloading bench after a 25 year hiatus. Curious how many if any of you electrically ground your presses, trimmers ect on the bench?

Well, that's a new one on me. I'll be curious to see if anybody else does that.
If it's 'static cling' you're concerned about, a quick wipedown of powder handling equipment with an anti-static clothes drier sheet will fix that in a hurry.

Grounding your equipment has little or no effect on anything.
Be not weary in well doing.

Have never grounded any reloading equipment, but wonder if grounding might be a good idea if reloading much black powder.

If anything, it would encourage the flow of electricity through the device.
You shouldn't be using an ordinary iron/steel press for reloading black powder.
I'll second the drier sheets. It makes a big difference.

If we live long enough, we all have regrets. But the ones that nag at us the most are the ones in which we know we had a choice.

I never have either, ran across a utube video narrated by a women who indicated that she has had grounded all her reloading equipment. The video show the press and other gear connected to a green lug wire, conected to a ground bar on the bench????????

As a guess, I 'spect she believes in man-made-global-warming. And votes for anyone promising to provide for and protect her all her life with other people's money too.

If you are expecting a Lightning strike grounding will do nothing. The Static charges are locally generated and have no reference to ground.

Allow me to be the lone voice of dissent. We know that powder measures and beam scales can accumulate static charges. Powder can flow erratically and beam scales can give false readings due to those charges. Spark isn't the issue, rather the "attraction" factor.
It takes little effort and no expense to run a thin wire from each machine to a ground. It can't hurt anything, and it might help.
