I am looking for some 222 rem mag brass to make some 6x47 's Is the 222 rem mag the mother of the 204 ruger? Could I use the 204 ruger to make the 6x47?

Gotta push back the shoulder which can be tricky. I just use 222 RM brass in mine.

Or do a 6mm-204 & use the 204Ruger brass. Sounds simple enough

Same here.

I believe that .222RM brass is a once a year production run.
Get a few hundred next time it's made.

I just wish I could find some properly head stamped brass! If I could I'd take my rifle to Africa in two years. I'm getting close to 3000 fps with 85 grain bullets, and it has worked for me on pronghorn out to 300 yards so I think it could do great on smaller plains game.

.222 RM is out of stock on Midway, there is some on GB but it is expensive. I haven't tried to make it out of .204 yet but I'm sure with patientce it could be done. You might have to neck it up larger than 6mm, to move the shoulder back.

Federal made some 6x47 cases years ago; checking on Gunbroker and gun sites like this one, gun shows may turn some up.

I still have one box of Federal 6x47 match brass. I keep it just in case I ever make myself another 6x47 (an unlikely occurence to be sure). GD

I have some in 222; heavy, but it produces loaded rounds with zero runout. Never cared for nickle though.

I also scored 900 "new" Herters 222 Mag cases, Though the old headstamped R-P cases were also near match grade and needed little sorting.

If you get newish R-P cases, look at the headstamp, as you will get two different ones and they seem to have different capacities as well.
