Suggest a retirement location quiz link that will find us.

1. Warmer climate than New England.
2. Outdoor shooting and hunting.
3. Nearby health care (seniors).
4. Civilized community.

I am thinking more of the south west at the moment.
Almost everyone from here moves to Florida.

Some area's of western Colorado would fit the bill. I live in the Grand Junction area. We still have winter but very little snowfall, less than 9". The lack of trees will shock a New Englander. A 40 minute drive will put you at 10,000 feet and we are surrounded by millions of acres of public land.

Much of so. Idaho qualifies on all 4. So does much of no. Idaho but it's wetter and often colder. It's a very different climate than the south end.

What kind of hunting? Hell, you can shoot anywhere but if you have specific desires for hunting that will change the game.

North Idaho works for me. Lot's of snow at times but rarely real cold. Plenty of inexpensive "over the counter tag" hunting for birds, deer, elk and bear. Plenty of fishing. Reasonable home prices on land away from folks if desired and hospitals 15 miles away or less if you choose wisely.

That explains what happened to me!

There I was, minding my own business, just planning on retiring in Alaska, and BAM! I got sucked right into Texas.

You're right, Texas SUCKS! grin

We have 2-4, and are very fortunate that item 1 plus the wind scares most people away.

Stop it!!!! RockChucks advice was SPOT ON. South Idaho is where it is AT.
North Idaho is HORRIBLE, despite what you have mentioned for perks. South Idaho is WONDERFUL. Move there. grin

Arizona. We are buying a vacation house there for 40k. Property taxes are low. Property in the Phoenix area is still very cheap. Ken
